Our staff needs help! We want to add a "Favorite Bar or Brewery" to each Chaser Guide. What is your favorite bar or brewery within a short distance of each Major League Ballpark? Why do you like it? What is your favorite drink and/or food there?

I saw the Rogers Centre - Gretzky's and while that is worth checking out, I'd say if you are interested in some interesting beer, right beside Roger's centre is Steamwhistle where you can take a tour which obviously includes samples. http://www.steamwhistle.ca/tour/tourInfo.php

Baltimore - Pratt St Alehouse for the local beer and crab pizza

Cincinnati - Holy Grail for great selection, low prices, and literally being across from the gate

Cleveland - Great Lakes Brewery with shuttle to the stadium

Washington - Gordon Biersch for proximity and their own beer

Boston - Boston Beer Works for good food and their own beer

San Diego - Fox Sports Grill across the railroad tracks for their beer selection

Safeco, It has to be Pyramid brewery and Ale House right across the street.  The food is good and the beer is great.  I don't know if they still do it, but Tuesdays used to be free pint glass night, but a pint, keep the glass.

Petco, Stone Brewery.  Good beer, decent (not excellent) food and a great place to go to before or after the game.

Wrigley Field -- Hands down.....it's MURPHY'S

U.S. Cellular Field - A very cool out of the way bar that used to be a speakeasy -- SCHALLER's PUMP.

Miller Park - Definitely tailgate

For San Diego folks (and visitors too)..best bang for your buck...Monkey Paw! On the corner of 16th and F Street. They brew their own beer and serve various local and non local craft beers. Prices are reasonable, about $5 a pint...but happy hour is 5 to 7 giving a $1 discount...if you are going to the game and you show them your ticket you get a regular burger with the purchase of a beer....nothing fancy just a plain burger but where else can you get a burger and craft beer for under $5? If you splurge a few bucks the waffle fries are good and the cheese steak sandwiches are really pretty amazing.

In Milwalkee , LAKEFRONT BREWERY INC. small brewery , great tasting brew , the tours are great , the tour guides are funny and also they give you 5 wooden nickles for free samples of their good beer. The kids get root beer. Answer a question given on the tour they throw you an extra nickle. I'm not sure this is still done but at the end of the tour in the store they give you a free beer glass which I thought was a classy thing to do. In fact go to the brewery before the game and buy some beer , ice those baby's up , tail gate and catch a nice little buzz before going in to a very nice ballpark.  Happy Trails

Houston (Astros)

Royal Oak (about a 10 min taxi from the Stadium)

http://royaloakhouston.com/

20s & 30s crowd.

Arlington (Rangers)

Go to Dallas Fort Worth, about a $45 taxi ride from the ballpark, but its worth it. Happening town. Streets lined up with bars. Arlington is pretty touristy.

Anaheim (Angels)

Tilted Kilt

About 5 min from the stadium (not walking distance though)

The Catch

More upscale, few mins from stadium, walking distance

JT Schmidts

Handcrafted microbrews on tap, clean, great food.

few mins from stadium, walking distance

That's it for now. I need to recall other placed I have been. :)

Julie, out of the three bars you listed in Anaheim, which is your favorite?

Oops, didn't even see your post. I would say Tilted Kilt probably for the atmosphere.

Toronto Skydome (Yes, I called it Skydome): WVRST on King St. Best beer and Sausage selection.

PNC Park: Monterey on the North Shore or Jerome Bettis Bar & Grill just down the street.

Great American-- "Holy Grail" if you want to be close and have a good time, "Hofbrauhaus Newport" for after the game.  It's a blast! Huge draft beers, German music, people dancing on tables, pretty much anything goes.  And the food isn't bad if you're looking for a late night snack.

Best bar right across the street from Fenway is Boston Beer Works.  Good food and great atmosphere.

My daughter says Blue Jacket near Nationals Park is her favorite.
