When does a visit to a ballpark count?

Was curious what others used as a criterion for 'counting' a visit to a ballpark.    Examples I've heard: - Must see game - Must see at least X # innings - Took a tour - Took snap shots - Spring trai…

keeping mementos from parks

Here's an idea. Get a map of North America and get it framed on posterboard (should be less than $80 depending on size of map). For each game you and your son go to, get a lapel pin ($5 or $6) of the…

I am torn on this one. I scalped great seats to a Cubs-Cardinals game. I had taken my photos inside and outside (photos of me as well as just the park). I had my program, my beer, and my hot dog. Then 20 minutes after game start time, still waiting,…

Ken - Remember the minor leagues. You've got the New Britian RockCats who look to be home on or about the 23rd; the Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA of the Red Sox) - they are not home on the 23rd weekend but are playing a game on the 22nd at home. You've got…

I agree with Doug - last season when I did all 30 the rule I used was an official game.

Going back to Tuscon, going back where things went wrong... (song by the Supersuckers). Have fun down there, it should be fun! I wish I was heading that way too.

Down to Tucson. It's supposed to snow (showers and flurries - not a storm) for the next five days here so it will be a nice reprieve to be down in AZ for an extended weekend. I'll be seeing a lot of tourist stuff, as well.

Ditto - Give yourself three times as much time than the Louisville Slugger Museum (I didn't particularly enjoy my tour there) but loved Cooperstown (and I, of course, did not plan for enough time there). Check out Doubleday Field while you are there…

Funny you bring this up Meg...I had a buddy that was big into baseball, he was as die hard for the Mets as I was for the Orioles. He took me to a game at Shea and I returned the favor at Camden Yards. He told me he had seen a preseason game there. I…

Yeah, this is certainly a matter of opinion and if its your personal opinion that it counts as long as you have seen the park (as with a tour), then count it. My thoughts are that as long as I was there, I can say that I "saw" it. To say I saw a gam…

In my opinion if you show up with a ticket on game day, and make a good hearted attempt at watching it, it should count. Even in the case of a rain delay. The one rain delay I was caught in, ended up being a great way to get to know the stadium and…

Ah yes, the age-old question of when does a 'visit', count. I think it really is a personal thing and can be different for everyone. With that being said, I never count a ballpark until I have seen the home team play a game there. -If I leave early…

I agree with Doug. I personally don't count a tour. A tour isn't much of an experience compared with a game and players on the field and fans in the stands.

It definitely varies by person. There's really no "right" answer, because technically, if you've been to the park, you've been to the park. Personally, I only count it if I've seen an official game, meaning the minimum of 5 innings. But, I've seen c…

Just three weeks to my first of four baseball roadtrips this season

Hey Meg, the 30/41 stands for all the current MLB parks, and 41 overall (so 11 of those that have since been closed). As soon as the Twins open Target Field, I will have to drop it back to 29/41 until June when I go there, then back to 30/42 :) Thanks for the friends request :)

Hey Meg! Thanks much for getting back to me! Yes, any information on Turner Field you'd be willing to share I'd hugely appreciate. Food to get, ways to avoid traffic, any secret you may have...I'll send you something cool in return.

You'll love Kansas City's ballpark if you haven't been already. Very underrated, fantastic place to see a game.

Thanks again...
