Marlins Park August 2015

Finally got to Marlins Park this month, and liked it a lot. We took a trip down to Miami for an overnight just to get to the park - although stayed in South Beach so did an Art Deco walking tour as well, absolutely worthwhile. I saw what I figured must be Marlins Park from the air as we were coming in for landing, and confirmed in the taxi on the way there that yes, that is what I saw. We thought it was big and flashy, and while it would look awful just about anywhere else, was absolutely…

Marlins Park!

Well we finally made it to all 30 MLB with the opening of the Marlins new ballpark. First of all let me say, as everyone else has in Miami, "At least it has air conditioning!" I'm going to break up the review in several parts from family friendly parts, to not so family friendly, to areas I liked better than most and other areas of the ballpark.

My son and I were seated in the Clevelander area of the ballpark. I chose this area of the park because you can look right into bullpen of… Continue

Game Dates Set for Blind Baseball Traveler 30-30 Tour

Days after I wrote the update to my 30 ballpark, 30 day plan, things began to finally come together. I had to make a final set of schedule alterations, but the blind baseball traveler is now 55 days from the ultimate baseball dream.

I’ve managed to also make arrangements with a few teams so far to see the field, particularly in the outfield where the ballparks have their personality or lack thereof.

Seats for all but four teams have been purchased, with the Cubs, Nationals, and…

It's not over until it's over...or is it?

June 23, 2011: Attended the last game of the Mariners vs. Nationals series, a game that the Nats came into with a cool .500 record.  Here was their chance to break into a winning record, something they have not done since 2005.

The game went into the 9th tied at 0. Laynce Nix pinched hit for Pitcher Tyler Clippard and hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring…

2009/2010 MLB Season

Dear Ballpark Chasers,

Baseball is finally in the air, but it feels like just yesterday that the New York Yankees inaugurated their new Yankee Stadium and then beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2009 World Series. Yankee Stadium was not the only new ballpark to open last season, or in New York for that matter. Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, also opened its doors.

The Florida Marlins and the Minnesota Twins also had some exciting ballpark activity in… Continue
