(I will try to periodically update this blog with a profile of a lost ballpark site that I've been to)

Huntington Avenue Grounds in Boston is a conveniently located, easy-to-find, and notable lost ballpark site.

It was home to the Boston Red Sox from 1901-1911 and hosted the first modern World Series game in 1903.

The site is part of the Northeastern University campus and is located near the Godfrey Lowell Cabot Physical Education Center. If you're in Boston for a Red Sox game, it's easy to get to, only about a mile from Fenway. It is also only about two blocks from the site of South End Grounds (we'll save that for another day).

You'll find a plaque at the site as well as a statue of Cy Young.
