Has anyone done San Francisco, Oakland and Seattle in one trip (driving from SF to Seattle)? How long did it take you? Have 7 stadiums to go and it would be nice if we could go to 3 this summer.

Thank you everyone for your comments! You were all very helpful. We decided we are going to drive. It's the journey, not the destination, right? Plus, there are 4 of us so it would be close to $800 to fly from SF to Seattle! Safe travels to the ballparks this summer!

My granddaughter and I are going to this this summer, the middle of June. We are coming from Texas, going West to the two LA teams and San Diego. We will then head up to Oakland, SF, then Seattle. It is the drive from Seattle to Dallas that will be interesting. We are going to stay in Yosemite the first night, Denver the 2nd, and then home. In all we will be gone two weeks. We are so excited!! From SF to Seattle we have a day and a half to play with, so I think we will enjoy.
If you are from the Bay Area and don't have much time, I would fly. But, if you have time take the coast up and 5 down.

I don't mean to take away the fun of a road trip, and SF to Seattle is beautiful country, but perhaps this is a trip best done by flying. If you plan ahead roundtrip flights from SF to Seattle are well under $200. Making it even easier, AT&T Park is south of San Francisco as is the airport. BART connects the two and trains are frequent. The taxi from Seattle's airport into Seattle is pricey but there is really no need to have a car in Seattle. I suggest you stay downtown and walk to the stadium. It's a real nice walk, even in the light rain. We stayed on the opposite side of the city from the stadium and still the walk was pleasant. I hate to suggest something that removes the roadtrip aspect but the flight will save you from a 13-15 hour drive and more importantly the flight is probably the less expensive option. Just throwing it out there as an option.

I'm interested in that trip for next summer. Please let me know how it is. Have fun!

No matter how you slice this, try to get your car after you go to SF (or stash it further away). The Giants play in a really urban neighborhood. They look to have decent parking, but I'd rather drive to a Red Sox game. The good news is that CalTrain has a station a block from the park, and it had special event trains for after the game. There's also light rail too. That said, SF's transit seemed complex to me—and I'm from Chicago.

Can't tell you about the drive to Seattle, but the Sacramento River Cats are barely an hour north.

Bob, thanks for the info. We also like going to minor league games. When we went to Nationals and Braves, we stopped to see Durham Bulls. We'll have to check schedules of all the teams so we can see what we can fit in.

I did Oakland(6/23 night) and Seattle(6/25 day) on my 2000 road trip. Broke it up with seeing the Portland (it would now be Hiisboro Hops) minor league team on 6/24. I drove out from New York on that trip. The Oakland Seattle leg is pretty long so if you have the time I would split it up with something in between . Portland is about 3 hours south of Seattle. Eugene and Salem-Keizer are both also on the way and a little closer to SF/Oakland. It is beautiful country out there. I would like to make it back to see the rest of the minor league teams and some college summer ball and another mariner game.

Hi Dodi! Yes, I did Seattle to San Francisco by car and then took the ferry to Oakland. If I remember correctly, it took roughly 13 hours by car. It's not a bad drive and can be done in one day if needed.
