It is a bittersweet trip that I wil take beginning on Friday to southern California. My husband of 40 years and I retired 5 years ago and as of last Sept we had visited 27 parks. The last 3 are Angels, Padres and Dodgers. Since the Red Sox are playing at Angels and Dodgers next week we decided to make our trip in the summer instead of our usual Septermber. Unfortunately my husband died suddenly almost 3 weeks ago. I first thought I could not make the trip but the more I thought about it the more I felt I had to go in his memory. I know he will be with me. I have relatives in southern CA and many of our friends and relatives are offering me tremendous support. It is with a heavy heart I am making this journey but it is made with love.

Hi Brenda, I am so sorry for your loss. You are making the right decision to continue with your trip in his memory. Best wishes during these hard days.

Thanks for the support. I know he will be with me.

Brenda, on behalf of our staff, I want to express our deepest condolences to you and your family. I agree that making this trip in memory of your husband will be a great tribute. I am so glad to hear you have family in the California area that will be there for your support. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks so much. Baseball meant so much to us. I do miss him complaining about the umps!

This is heartbreaking. I can't imagine the loss of a spouse after 40 years. You  are making the right decision by continuing with your trip- I am sure your husband would have wanted you to. You are in my prayers- God Bless!

I appreciate the support.

My wife and I have been married 41 years and have visited 29 ballparks, it has been an incredible and fun journey, so many great memories as I'm sure you also have. You are doing the right thing by going to these three parks, I would want my wife to finish our journey. You will always be glad you completed your goal, enjoy this experience knowing he will be with you in spirit.

Thanks so much for the support.

Wow, so sorry. This breaks my heart, but glad you are going still to honor his memory. May you find peace during your trip and feel his presence with you while you are there.

I appreciate the kind words.

So sorry for your loss. You honor your husband by finishing the journey you started together.

Brenda

Thanks for sharing your memories of visiting so many parks with your husband.  I'm sure you have a treasure chest of memories from those trips. I think taking in those last three for both of you is a fantastic ideal.  I just finished 30, and asked my wife if she would have finished the last few without me, and she didn't hesitate in saying she'd do the same thing.

Enjoy the trip and the new ballparks, and smile knowing that you are sharing this with your husband.  God bless.
