Hi folks,
I need a little help with logistics in Kansas City. I plan on going to see my O's in K.C. in July. I think by looking at the map I may already know the answer to my question1! Is it possible/legal to walk from the hotels listed within 4 miles of the K? I'm actually going to stay at the Days Inn which is a little over 3 miles on the other side of the K but will still need to traverse on or near I70 unless there are service roads I can use. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey Jim- I would not recommend it. Is there a reason you are staying at that Days Inn? There are several motels within walking distance of Kauffman. Have you had the chance to look at our Kauffman Stadium Chaser Guide?

Thanks for the help Craig. I got impatient and unfortunately changed my plans. I had to pull the trigger so I'm going to Tampa Bay instead in early June to see the Orioles

Hi Jim,
First off welcome and I hope you enjoy your trip to KC- it's a great ballpark and an underrated city!

Kauffman Stadium is one of the very few stadiums I would recommend driving to and parking the car. There are only a select few hotels nearby and the fun things to see & do in the area are located several miles away. It's ultimately your call but if you rent a car you can visit some of the great BBQ or steak restaurants in the area, visit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and/or check out the Harry Truman Museum. Plus you can stay closer to other places to visit. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Jim. I'm gonna miss that K.C. BBQ! I hadn't gotten a reply (I was impatient)and had to pull the trigger. Going to Tampa instead to see the Orioles. As it is.. it's about a mile or so between the Hotel and Tropicana field.I plan on walking as long as I don't have to do any highway jumping! I had to use an airline voucher before it expired so I plan on doing this trip on the real cheap..no rental car..walking to/from stadium. Thanks again!

Yea, I stayed the night in the Motel 6 in Independence and had to walk about 5 miles down service street to the stadium in 110 degree heat. Wasn't so bad, except that my Greyhound got into to downtown the night before and I just ended up sleeping here and there, hotel lobbies, etc, that night before and walked all around downtown KC and out to 18th and Vine before finally catching a city bus out to Independence that afternoon. Might have been easier to stay at a hotel near the stadium, but certainly not cheaper. Also, you have to take advantage of the 1 dollar bus rides to and from all the Midwestern cities on megabus, cheaper than greyhound
