Sorry I didn't reply sooner. We fly to Vancouver Aug 3, staying at my nephew's friend for the night. Have to find a way to Seattle the 4th ( no transportation booked yet) We got a place on airbnb for 2 nights. We have tickets for Boston 4th, Angels 5th. Would love to go Saturday as well but we fly home from Seattle at 12:30am that evening. That's likely cutting it too close, I'm thinking.
The hotel at Rogers Center is Renaissance Downtown Hotel. Not associated with team but is a great location. Airport is a fair distance from downtown especially with congested traffic that is always present during day. Rail to Union Station rather than cab/Uber during day. Get hotel downtown for sure if looking for other things to do besides game.

Just saw that you're from Ontario....interestingly enough, I'm going to be at the Rogers Centre for my first Blue Jays game vs the Orioles on July 30. Let me know if you have any suggestions for seeing a game there. I looked into the hotel room in the outfield options, but most of what I read about it said to avoid it and that it's a Marriott corporate thing. Too bad, it seems like they're missing out on a great opportunity to theme it and market it as such!

Hi Brad, if you haven't found a hotel yet, here's what I'd do. Check out the SoundTransit light rail line, and its stops. If you're coming from the airport, there's a station for it there, and it's a cheap guaranteed on-time ride for you straight to the ballpark. So that opens up hotel options for you at the airport; there's a few hotels directly across the street from the airport station. I'd also look into hotels near the Tukwila (stop after airport), Beacon Hill (just south of the ballpark) and Capitol Hill (north of downtown, artsy community, very vibrant) stations. If you're going for a "cultural Seattle experience" I'd tip my hat to places in Capitol Hill. It's in the city and not too far from downtown, and in addition to the SoundTransit light rail there's the new Seattle Street Car line (essentially surface rail) that takes you by the hospital district on First Hill and down to King Street Station and the stadiums.

For seating, the Terrace Club is spectacular and has perfect sight lines....it's a bit more expensive, but the food options are really nice and the seats have a bit more room. Otherwise I'd go for the center field bleachers and use that as an opportunity to walk around and explore the place. Good luck and have fun!

PS - You do realize the M's are retiring Griffey's jersey #24 the day after your 2nd game on Sat Aug 6? Didn't know if that mattered to you, but thought it was worth mentioning since he'll be the first M's player to have a number retired.

Hi Brad! Unfortunately, Seattle is extremely expensive when it comes to lodging. All our recommendations are posted on our Safeco Field Chaser Guide. However, nothing is close to the ballpark and under $200 a night. Here is a forum that was recently published asking your same questions.

Flying out for games in Seattle Aug 4 & 5. Flights are booked but need a hotel, I'm noticing prices near park are outrageous even compared to most downtown areas. Any suggestions of a location that is still convenient for an Uber to park or something would be great. Also still looking for tickets. Tips on sections to avoid or great seats for the price also greatly appreciated.
