The "Events" feature is now live on ballparkchasers.com! Have you ever went to the ballpark and wondered if other Ballpark Chasers were in the stands with you? Have you ever wanted an easy way to let others know that you will be attending a game? Well, now you can easily post your ballpark travels and invite others to meet you at the game!

To create an event, click the "Events" sub-tab (located under the "Social" tab) and click the link to "Add an Event." Next, fill in information about your event. Required fields include event name, description, event type, start time, and location. You'll want to upload an image that's roughly square in size or use our default image. In the "description" field, you can add text, hyperlinks, images, and even files. If you'd like, you can add an end time, street, city or town, website or map, and phone number for your event.

By default, any event you add will appear as organized by you and will link to your profile page. However you can change who the event is organized by if you'd like in the "Organized By" field.

Don't forget to choose the privacy settings for your event. Anyone can RSVP to a public event, while only invited people can RSVP to private events. However some information about private events will still be visible to all members of your social network, including the title, start time, event type, and organizer. You can also choose to disable RSVP altogether or hide the guest list.

You can always make changes to your event once it's been created. You can quickly edit the location or event type from the Event's page, or edit any of the other fields you filled out when creating your event.

If you make changes to your event, you may want to let people who have been invited to the event know. As an event creator, you can opt to send a message to people who are attending, people who might attend, people who haven't yet RSVPed, or people who are not attending.

You can send people an update - or a reminder about your event - by returning to the Event's page and clicking the "Send Message to Guests" link.

This is cool guys. I went to a few games earlier in the year and thought that exact thing, if other ballpark chasers were there too.
i think this is a good tool, for any ballpark chaser anytime they go to a ballpark they should have a column in their profile that states next game and where it is-also with the last game they attended and where. I don't know if this is possible. Any others think this is a good idea?
I think it's a great idea. Does the announcement show up on the current events side of the home page? It would be great if there was an actual calendar and we could put "Sharon(24)-Citifield" or "Chuck Booth - Turner Field" and the next day "Chuck Booth - Tropicana Field". Craig, is this possible for next year?
This is a great way for ballparks chasers to hook up. Over the weekend, I was in Philadelphia, Baltimore & Bowie.

Sunday morning I turned on my Blackberry and Sharon(24) wrote me and said she was going to Camden Yards. She knew where I was sitting and a few innings into the game she came up.

That made my day.

I was with my friend Mike aka the "King" because he sees more baseball games then anyone can imagine. He's on pace for 230 games again for the 15th consecutive year.

I see on average around 180 myself give or take.

We rolled out the carpet and welcomed Sharon. Little did I know she was afraid of heights. Even still she braved her fears and came up and joined us.

I'm going to do a special post on my blog regarding her visit.

Here's the link just in case you haven't checked it out yet:

I welcome all chasers to join me.

We can all meet & greet and exchange interesting stories of our different travel adventures.

My only problem is my technological incompetence but I'm working very hard to overcome that deficiency.

Please feel free to help guide me along in that regard.

I have plenty of talent to get you where you want and need to go. You just have to let me know.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours truly,

Gary Herman
That is great to hear, Gary. I am glad you guys were able to meet! As our site grows, I imagine this tool will be used a lot more frequently.
Absolutely! It was a tremendous idea.

My blog is getting lots of traffic thanks to your site too.

I can't thank you enough.

Gary
