Hi, I am heading to Marlins Park for the first time (my 35th MLB park!) and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for things to do in the area. Thanks.

I was there a year ago for Marlins/Braves opening day. The one day the park actually sold out. I went to Wynwood Brewery for a couple of drinks and explored that artsy cool area, then drove to the nearest train station and took the Metro to the ballpark. Can't remember if I had to take a bus to and from the metro station by the park, but I do remember it being easier than paying for parking and being stuck in traffic. I didn't spend much time around the park; didn't seem like much to see other than the ballpark and the fans themselves. If you're not going opening day, it should be much less crowded and might be easier to park and drive.

Thank you!

My girlfriend and I hit both Miami and Tampa a few years back. I would suggest going for a fan boat ride thorugh the Everglades, it was really cool. As for Marlins Park, we drove and parked in the parking garage practically next door to the park. The area seemed a little sketchy, so I would suggest paying the extra money for parking. There didn't seem to be a whole lot to do around the park, but Miami Beach isn't far from the away and if you are going with a girl, they will enjoy that area.
