Hi Chasers,

Last year we crossed the finish line (30th MLB park in 5 years). This year, we will be touring the PCL and will visit Nashville, OKC, Albuquerque, El Paso and New Orleans.

Would appreciate any tips and local know-how to get the best experience possible.

Hello

I am interested in going to some Gulf Coast League games later this month. I know that the games are played during the day and I believe there is no admission charged. However, are tickets still needed? Can I just go to the stadium and walk in? What about food - are any concessions open during GCL games?

thanks

Hi fellow Ballpark Chasers.

I am writing a piece on the origin of the names of MiLB teams. So far I have big problems with finding the origin of the name of the Kane County Cougars.

Does anyone of you know why the Cougars are called the Cougars? Was there a naming contest when they moved to Kane County in 1991? Is there a link between the wildlife of the area and the name?

Please help.

Thank you.

Anyone been to many parks in the FSL?

I'm gonna be doing some weekend road trips this summer around the state, and was gonna try and hit up some minor league games along my routes. Was trying to figure out if I should make a preference on one stadium or another if my trip would only allow for 1 stadium.

I went to a game here yesterday yet again. I really enjoy this park. Its the Twins AA affiliate so there are always good prospects here. Great sightlines from everywhere in the park. This is the 30th year of baseball in NB with the last 15 or so with the Twins. Good food and beer selection at good prices. There is a great roof deck above 3rd base to watch the game from sponsored by Sam Adams. My only complaint is paying for parking at a minor league game. There are also too many…

There are also too many promos between innings but that is true for most minor league stadiums.

Saw Jason Marquis pitch yesterday in a rehab start. He looked great. Game went 11 innings but the Rockcats lost to the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
Trenton Thunder Welcome North Fan Festtag:www.ballparkchasers.com,2012-03-16:1681163:Topic:1089792012-03-16T02:35:41.028ZScott Heaton (12)https://www.ballparkchasers.com/profile/ScottHeaton

Would be interesting to hear about some minor league teams and stadiums. Coming from an area where we didnt have access to major league ball, I got hooked on watching minor league teams, where the guys played for something more than money.

I grew up in watching the Peninsula Pilots (Class A-),....who brought in such greats as Johnny Bench, and when they were farming for the Astros, I can recall many a night where Cesar Cedano was often an example of how little leaguers should not play…

Along the way, I caught the Asheville Tourists (before the Rockies), the Arkansas Travelers (is there a theme going here?). AM thinking I may have to make a trip to see the Durham Bull and maybe even visit the Toledo Mudhens.
