We made it! It's finally Opening Day around Major League Baseball! Will you be attending an opening day game at a Major League ballpark this season? It's an annual tradition of ours to track opening day attendance to see if we have Chasers at every Major League ballpark. Our record is 28. Will this be the year we reach all 30? Post your photo in the comments below from your 2019 opening day game. Remember, we want all 30 ballparks represented so this goes beyond…

My friends and I just went on our 4th annual Spring Training trip to AZ. We discovered a gem! An app called "Uber." Use my promo code 5pi2z to get $20 on your account to use for a ride!

Uber is basically an alternative to a Taxi. Depending on the city you are in, you have some different options. In AZ, I used my friend's promo code and received $20 on my account. Then, you just go into the app, click the button for a ride, and they send you the photo of the driver, contact info, the plate #, and the make of the car. Then you can watch on your GPS screen as they drive toward you. It's super cool. If you choose the "UberX" option in the app (if it's available in that city) that means you want the cheapo car, basically the Honda Civic to come pick you up. But that's the cheapest option, which is what we did. Or you can choose the "Black Car" which is basically the luxury town car, which costs a little more.

Anyhow, after we took our first ride for free from the $20 credit I had, I sent the promo code to my friend, and we used her credit for the ride back to our hotel. Again, free ride. And because she used my promo code, I got another $20 put into my account (which I used for a different ride later.) Then, she gave her promo code to another friend that was with us. Another free ride for us all. So, basically the 4 of us rode around town all weekend and did not pay a dime! Got to drink without worrying about driving. I highly recommend it. Once my account has no money left on it, I will still use this service as it costs very similar to a cab, yet is way more convenient. And the drivers are supposed to provide the passengers with bottled water. Oh! And no money is exchanged. You arrive at your destination, and just say goodbye. Then, Uber automatically deducts the fare from your account, including the tip. Then you receive an email receipt right away and get to rate the driver. They get to rate you as a passenger as well. You can look up the estimated fare before you request the driver so you know how much to expect. One more thing to note, during peek hours (like when we needed a ride at 11:40p on a Saturday night) the rate goes up a little.

So, start with your free $20 and go from there. Totally worth it. Uber does background checks on all of their drivers and has photos of them and their cars. And just think, if you accidently left your wallet in the car, you can just call the driver right away!
Ballpark Beertag:www.ballparkchasers.com,2012-04-15:1681163:Topic:1108932012-04-15T00:11:33.436ZJack (6)https://www.ballparkchasers.com/profile/Jack

I found this article/photo gallery on huffington post about the transition of boring beer to great beer around Major League ballparks. I have to agree, wouldn't you! As someone that can appriciate a nice cold-one during a game I much rather fork out a few extra bucks for a nice beer. I am curious on other chasers opionions on this. Do you prefer a traditional lager or a quality microbrew? See the article below>>>…

I have received a lot of questions lately regarding ones ballpark count. Members are curious on if they should display the total number of ballparks they have visited (past and present) or only display the number of active ballparks they have chased. To answer the question, it is up to the member! We have Ballpark Chasers that display both ways so there is no right or wrong way to do it. For me personally, I like to display the number of active parks I have chased. This way I will only hit 30 once I have accomplished my life goal. At that point, I will start to display the number of past and present ballparks that I have visited.

Let me know if anyone has any questions or thoughts on this.
For some unknown reason, the website flagr.com, has been down for a week. Ballpark Chasers use their map tool to create a customizable road map of the stadiums they have visited. We are currently trying to reach the staff at Flagr to see if this is a temporary problem or if they have folded operations. Stay tuned for updates and thanks for your patience.
