HEY ALL BASEBALL FANS

Hey baseball fans. Welcome to my page. This here is my first blog. I've been a Dodgers fan since 1980, attended my first ballgame at Dodger Stadium on my 8th birthday in 1982 and have gone to many a Dodger game since. I have been to 18 of the current 30 ballparks, and 5 that are either extinct or no longer used for baseball, including Yankee Stadium. My last trip took me to Minute Maid Park in Houston and the Metrodome in Minneapolis last summer. This… Continue

Coveleski Stadium

Visited Coveleski Regional Stadium in South Bend, Indiana last week (MiLB Park #22 for me). Opened in '88 it lacks a few things, but was one of the first with the now standard open concourses. Not spectacular, but not a bad park either. The Silver Hawks are the Diamondbacks affiliate in the Midwest League.…

Parkview Field

Visited brand new Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana last week (MiLB park #23 for me). It is absolutely spectacular. I think they thought of every last detail and it shows. The place is great!! From a pretty poor park to one of the best around! The newly renamed TinCaps are the Padres affiliate in the Midwest League…

FACTOIDS ABOUT 30-23 streak

While I agree that is Josh's streak is 'extremely impressive doing all of his by car or ground transportation, the schedule to try and break such his attempt of only those guidlines with a 30-25 is virtually impossible. Add that I am a Canadian, and can't bring a U.S rental car to Toronto, Canada, and it is made even harder to accomplish the task. Only Detroit via a greyhound bus would be a possiblity. Besides that the doubleheaders are liimited to just driving or ground transport. I have 3… Continue

Greinke and Atlanta trip

Zack Greinke is my new favorite non-Astro. Glad I drafted him in 3 fantasy teams. 6-0 with 3 CG and 2 SHO, 0.40 ERA with 54 K's in 45 IP. Dominant. So much for the SI cover jinx.

Just returned from a trip to Atlanta to catch the Astros weekend series at Turner Field. My second visit to Turner Field; the first time was in '99 for a playoff game between the Mets and Braves. Endured 2 rain delays on Friday night and Sat afternoon. On Sunday, I caught up with Joey, Travis and Pedro, the… Continue

Smokies Park

Added a new minor league ballpark to my collection last week. Stopped by Smokies Park in Kodak, Tennessee (Cubs - AA - Southern League) while on a family vacation in that area. A very nice ballpark, but nothing too unique other than the HOFer managing the home team this year.…

The New Yankee Stadium

I've uploaded some pictures and put some thoughts on my blog related to the new Yankee Stadium in The New Cathedral of Baseball. Yes Ken your right, very little new history has been made there (with the exception of giving up 14 runs in an inning), however, this cathedral pays homage to the storied franchise that has won almost a quarter of the World Championships played. This is a tough thing to say for a Mets fan.

Dodger Stadium, 2003 -- You can drive right to the upper deck!

I arrived into L.A. on a Thursday night in early April, and didn’t have to be at the conference until Friday afternoon, so I had a little time to explore. Naturally, I made Dodger Stadium a priority.

Finding the ballpark was a little tricky because I couldn’t see it from the street. I was driving around the Chavez Ravine neighborhood and found the sign directing me into a wide area with what looked like toll booths.

The Dodgers started the season on the road, so I didn’t… Continue

#41 - Done again... until next year

OK, so I'm done again. Picked up #41, the new Yankee Stadium (the true Cathedral of the religion of baseball) last night. I'll be writing more about it later. But once again, my quest is complete until the new stadium opens in Minnesota next year.

Im going for a 30-23 record chase if anyone is interested

I have done the research for the greatest chance at breaking Josh's record of 30 different home baseball games in 26 days. As some of you already know, I came just short of reaching his total last year. (I did 30 baseball games in 29) days technically. Before I set out on the trip I did not know about any recrod for such a chase, so I just booked my trip around the allstar break so I could go to the FIELD OF DREAMS MOVIE SITE. I did make 30 games in 26 days but the 3 day allstar break ended up… Continue
