Forgot about him in "For Love Of The Game" and how dare I do that! Yikes! His line, "The Cathederal known as Yankee Stadium belongs to a Chapel" was just awesome! Delivered as only Vin Scully could!

Vin Scully is part of a dying breed of broadcasters. Who do you think out of today commentators, that could captivate and audience with just his voice, and no other color man? He was even awesome commentating on the movie "For Love of the Game" alongside Stevel Lyons. I love having XM satellite radio just tO here Vinny and the other 'top' broadcasters do their work. In some ways, listening to them is even better than being at the park in person, but Vinnie is a cut above the rest. I hope he…

I love Vin, he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, announcers of our generation (and those of the past). I love watching Dodger games just to hear him paint the pictures. Not a Dodger fan by any means, but I often flip their games on just to hear the master at work. Of course, he like the rest of us, are getting old. It pains me at times to see how far down hill Dave Niehaus has gone while doing Mariner games... but I love him still the same because he is who he is and the great…
I love Vin, he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, announcers of our generation (and those of the past). I love watching Dodger games just to hear him paint the pictures. Not a Dodger fan by any means, but I often flip their games on just to hear the master at work. Of course, he like the rest of us, are getting old. It pains me at times to see how far down hill Dave Niehaus has gone while doing Mariner games... but I love him still the same because he is who he is and the great memories he has supplied the voice to... "And the Mariners will play for the American League Championship... I don't believe it!!" "Randy Johnson points to the sky... which is covered by the Kingdome roof!" and of course "Get out the rye bread and the mustard grandma, it's grand salami time!!" I know, I know, you were talking about Vin Scully, but my point is that these great announcers lose a few steps over time and the really great ones that have been around for many, many years are losing steps daily. I can't imagine a Dodger game without Scully there, nor can I imagine a baseball season without hearing Niehaus' voice, cause to me, when he welcomes us to spring training, THAT'S when the baseball season starts. They will be missed, so be sure to enjoy them, and cut them a little slack, while you can, cause when they are gone... they're gone.<br />

P.S... the Santa Clause isn't real, it was a movie... made by, fittingly, Hollywood ;)
