Hey everyone, first off Hapy Thanksgiving! I am living in Pennsylvania and am looking to make a trip to the west coast for some games in late July or early August. My question is for those of you that have been to AT&T Park. Should I attend a day game or a night game? Everyone tells me how great the stadium is so I want to make sure I see it at its best. Thanks in advance for the help!

Enjoy it. It is a great park.  I combined a trip to Seattle, Oakland and SF. AT&T was my favorite. Safeco was right behind it. Oakland well behind all of them except for it being a Red Sox game and Curt Schilling firing a 1 hitter (losing the no-hitter with 2 outs in the 9th - damn you Shannon Stewart). Saw the A's at the Giants and it was a night game. Get there early and you can get the daytime views then the nighttime...Enjoy it.

AT&T is a great park.  I was there for a mid May game and it was about 75degrees and sunny.  Perfect baseball weather.  I'd recoment sitting down the first baseline just past first base for best value tickets.  There are a few cool bars around for pre-game drinks/food.  enjoy!

Sounds like a great trip.  You might get lucky and not need the jacket, but if you don't have one and it gets cold, you'll hate yourself!  Have fun at Coors Field, my favorite of the western group, and if you get a chance hoof out to the Rock Pile to meet the Colorado equivalent of the Bleacher Creatures.

I would love to see both in San Fran, but I only get a week off of work. I'm planning to see the 8 stadiums out west (San Fran, Oakland, Arizona, LA, Anaheim, SD, Seattle, & Colorado). The only way to fit all 8 in 7 days was to combine San Fran and Oakland on the same day. Thanks for the tip Michael, I heard the wind was a lot calmer at AT&T than Candlestick, but good to know I'll still need a jacket.

If you're making the trip all the way from Pennsylvania, why not do both? This way you're also covered for the most part if a game gets rained out. I think elsewhere we've had a discussion about what counts as far as having "seen" a ballpark.

If you do go at night (or for that matter in the daytime on most days), bring a warm jacket, hat, and gloves.  AT & T is warmer than Candlestick, but it still gets mighty cool there, even in daytime, and in summer.

I was about to type the same thing as Ryan! I actually enjoy night games better but would suggest a day game at AT&T Park.

Thanks for the recommendation, I prefer day games as well. Just bought tickets to a day game.

I'd recommend seeing a day game.  There are great views of the bay that you won't see at night. (Of course you could see the views before the sun sets at a night game, and I'm a little partial to day games).  Sit anywhere other than upper deck left field.
