"I have to admit that I wasn't sure what to expect, because they are a franchise that hasn't had a lot of success, even going back to the Senators, who won their only World Series back in 1924. The ballpark was very good, though."

My Trip to Nationals Park

Posted on March 29, 2009 at 11:35pm 4 Comments

It was a Saturday afternoon, and I was in Greenbelt, Maryland on some business that never took place, due to circumstances that were apparently way beyond my control. So, with my business plans for the day up in smoke, I decided to take the rest of the day, and go sightseeing. One of the places I knew that I wanted to go was to Nationals Park, being that Washington, D.C. was only 15 minutes from where I was in Greenbelt. So, off I went to see one of the newer ballparks in MLB, at the tender age… Continue

My Trip to Yankee Stadium... From Enemy Lines

Posted on November 4, 2008 at 11:17am 0 Comments

As a Mets fan since 1984, the one baseball stadium that I was always apprehensive of going to was the hallowed halls of the "House that Ruth Built". After all, the Yankees last World Series triumph in 2000 came at the expense of my team.

I really had to think about this one, and it came down to this. Even as a Yankee hater, when you look at the tradition and history that this stadium brings, and the fact that its days are now numbered, even I felt compelled to pay a visit to a place… Continue

My Trip to Turner Field

Posted on October 12, 2008 at 12:38pm 1 Comment

While I was away for a few days to see my sister in Atlanta(who I never did get to see), I decided to head to a place of serious horrors for my team - the infamous Turner Field, or as they call it, "The Ted", to see my New York Mets take on the Atlanta Braves.

At that point, the Mets were right there for both the National League East title, and the NL wild card. As we know by now, they blew both - again. I didn't write to talk about that. Instead, I will say that earlier in the day,… Continue

About 3 and a half weeks ago, I started an online travel website, and I just started thinking about different ideas, and I came up with an interesting concept. I always wanted to visit all 30 MLB stadiums, and hopefully, one day, I will get to do that. Until then, I figure I could at least book travel for those who are on the same quest, and in most cases, further along than I am. So, if anyone is in need of an online agency, mine is King James Travel Prices are similar to the big boys, and you can book whatever stadium package you choose to do. You can also get your game tickets at the site, should you need them, when you click the Extras tab, and then go to Sporting Events. Hopefully, it can be a place to go for the stadium traveler, as I wish to be one someday. I'll call my customers the Stadium Club. Any questions, talk to me at TMan_85@hotmail.com.

No, wish that I did. Maybe this year, I might take a couple. I guess that I need to go, being this is the last year. We'll see.
