California Trip 2014

Hello Chasers,

Five years ago me and a buddy did MIL, CHCx2, STL, BOS, HoF, BAL in 8 days. This year we are taking it easy with just 5 games over 8 days in August.

We will be in LA for 3 days so we don't want to stay too close to the stadium. Anyone stayed in good mid-budget hotels in Downtown, Hollywood or West Hollywood?

You don't want to stay downtown. Downtown is only good if you're just going to a game and leaving. Downtown hotels are expensive. Since you're staying for a few days and traveling around you'll be renting a car. They charge you $40 a night to park at the hotels.

Hollywood and West Hollywood are okay, but there is a lot of traffic there and you could be far from a freeway. I'd recommend Culver City. You're close to two freeways and it's easy to get to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, the South Bay, or the Valley. You'll also find a hotel similar to Hollywood/West Hollywood at a lower price.
