Hey Doug- you are not alone! Most Ballpark Chasers want to see all 30 ballparks in a course of a lifetime, rather than during one summer or even one month. I believe you now hold the record of total parks, past and present. We have a few members in the 40's, but 50 is in another league! We would love to see a list when you get the chance.
I am right behind him with 42 with 4 more to chase which brings my total to 46. My son and I got 28 outta 30 in the 2005 season
As a family person, and stay at home dad, 30 in a season would be impossible, also I enjoy the planning each off season and getting away with my buddy who lives on the left coast (i on the right) so we see each other. I have seen 28/30 current and 9 no longer in use ,some not even standing. Biggest regret was being fron NYC and never taken to Ebbets Field by my Dad, I was 6 when the Dodgers left but he was a Yanks fan so we always took the long drive from Brooklyn to The Bronx
I really didn't start this chase until the early 90's. Ohio born and raised, I got to Crosley Filed several times with my parents and even got to the last game ever there but even though we traveled and camped all over the U.S., we never went to ball games. So I missed out on ones like Shibe and Forbes Field then. After I got out of high school I went To Detroit and Cleveland but never any others. By then i missed out on Jarry Park and Exhibition Stadium. I was only three when the Dodgers and Giants fled New York so that was never to be considered. This year I got to Target Field to make my total 51. I still need the two new york ones but that is another year or so. Good luck on the rest of your quest, what two new ones have you not gotten?
