I lived in Chicago as a student but it has been a long time. I will be visiting both stadiums in August and I am wondering about the safety of taking the Red Line to the White Sox game. I will be travelling with my kinds. I would also love other suggestions for good parking in the area.

I was just at us cellular, white sox game. We parked in a church parking lot, south of stadium for $20. It was easy on and off the interstate. It was a nice except you have to stay on whatever concourse tickets you buy. So if u buy 500 level seats that's the only level you can go on. I like walking around to different levels and take pictures before the game but couldn't here. Definitely take them to Millenium Park and the beach. Those were my kids favorite things. The zoo wasn't great. I wish we would've skipped it and stayed at the beach longer.

Thanks, Lisa

If you are planning to go for a day game, the Red Line would be fine. I would be reluctant to have my kids on the train after a night game, however.

If you decide to drive, the official White Sox lots would be my recommendation. You do not get blocked in and they allow tailgating, if you are into that kind of thing.

Thanks, John. That is exactly what I needed.

I agree with John. We recently rode the Red Line to the Sox game. Interesting trip on the way there, a little frightening on the way back.

Ann, I took the red line to the Cell for a night game against the Cubs in May and it was completely fine. The stop is right outside of the park and there are a ton of people/police in the area. Same thing on our way out of the park. I never felt anything but completely safe.

i encountered no problems in chicago on the red line

Just don't head south on the red line after the game and you'll be fine.
