I am going to be to games in Washington, Baltimore, Philly, and Pittsburgh.  As part of my quest to hit every stadium, one of the things I am doing is trying to eat the ballpark favorite/signature foods at each one.  Anybody who has any suggestions for what I must eat while I'm there would be great.  I will take any suggestions for the other parks as well for when I get ready to go to the other stadiums.

I'm thinking about making a trip to Chicago to catch a Sox game over Memorial Day weekend.  Anybody got any good eat suggestions for when I'm there.  I had the Chicago dog when I was at Wrigley and looking for something different.

At Wrigley it's a Chicago Dog--literally, that's the name of the stand. You can get a beef or bison dog with fried onions and put relish, mustard, sport peppers, all of that Chicago stuff. And there's a stand called "The Works" with a bunch of unusual dogs, like the "Frito Pie" dog. They also have this gargantuan soft pretzel with three sauces called the "North Side Twist", definitely a two-person job. Wrigley's concessions have gotten tons better, they have a lot of great stuff now.

Just like i was advised for the red sox cubs series, be wary of the bleachers haha. Im in the lower bowl so its ok now

Thanks for all the comments so far.  I just picked up tickets to the Brewers/Cubs game on April 11th at Wrigley.  Anybody who has any tips, let me know.

Just my personal opinion, for what it's worth:

 

Washington - The Ben's Chili Half Smoke All The Way - a spicy sausage topped with excellent chili and shredded cheese. Best thing I've ever had at a ballpark. And don't patronize the Shake Shack or those other items in the Pavilion - save that for Citi Field! If you're still hungry, Hard Times Cafe makes great chili nachos.

 

Baltimore - Everyone loves Boog's, so I'm not knocking that, but Polock Johnny's is a sausage stand that sells a Polish with a good snap and something called the "Works" sauce. Polock Johnny's has been around since World War I, but they've just been added to Camden Yards. If you're drinking beer have a Natty Boh.

 

Philadelphia - I'm partial to the aforementioned Schmitter. It's a juicier sandwich than the sometimes dry product you get from Tony Luke's or Campo's. Plus the lines are shorter. It's a little tough to fine though, tucked under the stands near the left field gate. Chickie's and Pete's fries are good but you can go to the nearby restaurant for them and they'll give you a ride to the ballpark.

 

Pittsburgh - Primanti Bros. is great, but if you're going to be in Pittsburgh for more than just a game I would recommend getting one at one of the other locations. It's cheaper and there's more selection. Nothing wrong with the sandwich at the ballpark though. But at PNC, there's a stand in Pop's Plaza (named for Willie "Pops" Stargell) called "Pop's Potato Patch" - get a very large plate of fries with chili or cheese and bacon. Heck yes. Enough for two, by the way.

I agree with Mary (13)...the Half Smoke at Bens Chili Bowl is just about the ballpark food I have ever had....it is a must have in Washington! Third base side, maybe slightly down the line into the outfield if I remember correctly.

Hey Shawn:

In Philly, my favorites are:

Italian Hoagie from Planet Hoagie on Ashburn Alley (center field).

Chickie's and Pete's Crab Fries in right field (if you don't get these before the game, you'll likely be in line for a full inning).

& the BBQ sampler platter from Bull's (Greg Luzinski's) BBQ in right field.

There is also a very good Cuban Panini sold at a small stand at 1st base... I usually grab one of these when I don't feel like travelling far from my seats, but I've learned to wait until the 3rd inning or so to make sure I get a fresh sandwich (I've bought one too early and it was clearly premade). 

My friend buys a Schmitter (3rd base of course, though it's named after Schmidt's beer, not Michael Jack) at almost every game... it's a steak sandwich with cooked salami, cheese, tomatoes and fried onions.  If you want the obligatory Philly cheese steak, try Campo's on Ashburn Alley.
