So the plan as of now for this season is to make my annual Chicago trip to see the White Sox on June 18th vs. the Giants.  I had planned to make Minnesota my new park to visit, but I am now traveling to San Diego in July.  They were just building Petco when I was last there in 2002 so I visited Jack Murphy that year.  So on the 4th of July, I will be crossing Petco off my list for park #16.  Probably going to take the kids to Detroit late in July to see the White Sox.

Definitely try and have a Hodad's Burger. Phills BBQ is also very good, or hit the Ballast Point Deck down the 3rd base line and get the pork belly nachos. Lots of great craft beer options at Petco, Stone, Green Flash, AleSmith, Ballast Point, Karl Strauss and many more.

In case you haven't checked the beer / brewery thread, Id recommend Tin Fish for lunch before the game.  Awesome food and good beer within walking distance to the Stadium

You can walk through the stadium though you cannot enter the seating bowl as they "police" that pretty tightly.  I generally don't eat in the stadium as its right in the Gaslamp District with a lot of restaurant choices right there. But there are a lot of good beer stands.

The bleachers are pretty far from home plate and full of kids as there is a sandbox right there set up like a beach.  I would advise sitting someplace else except for a budget seat. I have sat in Section 131- 133 or the small sections in front multiple times and enjoyed it.

So it sounds like if I buy bleacher seats I can have access to the whole stadium.  That is good.  What is good to eat there?

Enjoy Petco Park.  Its one of my favorite stadiums.  Make sure to walk around the stadium and enjoy the CF area.  Not really any bad seats.
