Visited Wrigley (2nd time for me, first for the wife and kids) on Saturday. We sat low in the upper deck, as far right as you can go. Here's my thoughts:
-Sound is not great - could hear all of the players names, but if they played music or other things, I couldn't hear what they were saying.
-New video boards. I have seen the stadium before and after, and I have no problem with them. Since my seats did not have the best sight lines, it was nice to have the boards for a replay of a big play.
-Food and Drink - I had the Italian Beef giordano and the rest of my family had hot dogs. Good reviews on all. Beer offerings were not extensive, but I'm not too picky. The staff at the concessions were very nice.
-Ushers did not mess around. The older woman that met us at our section was nice to us as newcomers (we had a certificate for the kids), but she was firm in telling us what was what up there. My wife told me there was a woman on staff in the ladies room ordering people around like a drill sergeant to keep things moving. Some good midwestern folks!
-Fans - I see why people talk favorably about Cubs fans. Best rendition yet of Take me out to the Ball Game! Cubs won, so everyone joined in "Go Cubs Go" afterward. Good for you guys!
It's an old place that I appreciated for the atmosphere and history, not the amentities, so I got exactly what I wanted. Another fun trip for my crew.
This might be the last one of the season for us (barring some more in-town Reds games), because of school starting soon. This has been a good first summer of chasing!
