Hey, I'm putting together a vacation to San Diego for next April or May.  I will easily be visiting PETCO, but wondered how difficult will it be to also squeeze in Anaheim.  I will be relying heavily on public transportation, and can stay the night of the game in Anaheim.

I see the Amtrak is a viable option, but how difficult will it be to then go from Anaheim Station to the Park?

Thanks in advance for all responses.

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

Anaheim Amtrak station is just a 5 minute walk to Anaheim stadium.

I caught both games on the same day last year. San Diego station is about a 20 min walk from Petco or you can catch the Metrolink to Kettner Blvd. About 2 hour trip from SD to Anaheim. Have fun.

Depending on the time of the game ,you may need to take Amtrak to a Metrolink station and transfer to one of their trains. They stop at Angel Stadium and you would have several more hotel options. Metrolink has game night special trains, also.

Jeff- Amtrak stops directly at Angels Stadium.  It probably takes about 2 hours from San Diego.  You can pick up Amtrak in Old Town, which isn't too far from Petco.  Depending on your hotel budget, you could stay in or near Gaslamp downtown right by Petco.  Take the trolley (several locations downtown including Petco Park) to the Old Town station, then get on Amtrak.

Wow, I feel silly...unless my eyes deceive me, the Amtrak stop is at Angels Stadium!!!  Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks
