just got back.....tried the Ju(i)cy Lucy at each place (5-8 and Matt's) and preferred the 5-8 Club...both places were excellent though!

Main Street, the stone arch bridge and the entire riverfront district is pretty neat. There's the Mill City Museum and Nye's (nation's best bar) on either side of the river.

Make sure you give yourself enough time when coming into the game from the MALL OF AMERICA--lot o locals park their and take the 55 hiwatha line in---leave at least 75 minutes before the game--I almost missed the start of the game---the mall opens up at 10:30 or so.

Enjoy your trip to Target Field! What a great park. There is TONS to do in Minnesota... especially in the Summer! That is the best time of year.

Check out this article for a really good overview: http://www.mspmag.com/travel/forvisitors/vacationsinourcities/defau...
I admit that it's a bit outdated, but I like how it's split up, depending on who you are and what you like... The Foodie, The Fashionista, The Kid at Heart, The Arts Aficionado, The Ethnographer, The Night Owl, The History Buff, The Sports Fan, or The Nature Lover. Many of the events referenced in the article are held annually, so even though it's an outdated story, there is probably some relevance to the city still. If you have specific questions after reading it, send me a note-

For the casino, Mystic Lake is the biggest- and not a long drive from the cities: www.mysticlake.com/

And if you're all about the Jucy Lucy like Ken... I would recommend Matt's Bar (dive bark but GREAT food) or Groveland Tap (neighborhood gem). Those are the best in town in my opinion.

I'll be back next month for 2 games also and am looking for something new to do. The last few times I have been there I have done different things like the MOA and the Walker Arts Museum. Ya gotta go see the huge spoon and cherry at the Walker Arts Museum, its pretty cool :) This time through I am gonna check out the Ju(i)cy Lucy craze by stopping at the 5-8 Club and Matt's Bar and having one myself :)
