Has anyone been to the new Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford?  I went last week and it is gorgeous, in my top-20.  Also took in a game in wonderful McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, which is still one of the top places (top-10?) to see a game; after 75 years it holds up better than most parks, though the rumors strongly suggest the team might move. If so, hopefully another team can make use of this wonderful facility - tearing it down would be a sin. BTW, caught parts of 4 games in the Cape Cod…

Great NC trip last week. Lucking out on weather and scheduling, caught 10 games in 7 days - every minor league team in the state (plus Danville, VA, right over the border).  Charlotte's new stadium is top-10, Hickory, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Durham parks are all top rate, and the others are all terrific and enjoyable places to watch a ballgame.

Last week in Comerica Park in Detroit - tremendous park in sharp contrast to a depressing city - and Progressive (formerly Jacobs) Field in Cleveland, which is aging but still a beautiful park. Also saw games in 5 terrific minor league parks - in ascending order of excellence, Fifth Third Field in Dayton, Victory Field in Indianapolis, Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio, and possibly the best minor league stadium I've seen, Louisville Slugger Field. Because of its…

Miller Park in Milwaukee a few weeks ago was great - had good food too. Lousy Phillies games. Minor league parks in Appleton, Wisconsin, Spokane, Washington, Helena and Great Falls, Montana, and Boise, Idaho were all very good places to watch a game, with Helena's Kindrick Legion Field, surrounded by mountains in the distance, having the prettiest setting.
