How? Well, I include Old Tiger Stadium in my 11. I have been trying to make a tradition of baseball trips with my son (11). He has 10 parks under his belt (he was born after Tiger Stadium closed).

One thing I have learned in my stadium travels is the value of public transit. The cities that have a robust transit system are MUCH better for a sports fan than those that don't.

Example: I went to PNC Park for the first time this past weekend. Parked at the First Avenue Garage for $5. Rode the T for free to the game and back. Compare to Cleveland, where I paid $10 for parking in an industrial wasteland, and walked up a steep hill to the game. Public transit increases the supply of parking, thus reducing the price.

I'm already planning my baseball trip for next year. Depending upon my available funds, I have four options:

Midwest (which adds Kaufman and Target to my list)

Midwest Plus (adding Kaufman, Target, Ballpark at Arlington, and Minute Maid)

East Coast (adding Fenway, Citi Field, Nationals, Camden, and Citizens)

West Coast (adding O.Co, AT&T, Anaheim, Dodgers, Petco, and Chase)

I can't wait for the 2017 schedules to be released!

Ball park at Arlington is now Globe Life Park. As far as scheduling your tours , I would usually group areas together. I know , I know the baseball gods of scheduling has to be in your favor. I did Target Field , Wrigley Field , Miller Park , U.S Cellular Field , and Busch Stadium in one week. Its possible to do this as long as their home. My son and I do the same, guys week out and away from mom . More fun!  Happy travels and most of all enjoy the precious time with your son he will never forget it.

I second what William Varela said. We planned our trips to be grouped together ie: We did Dodgers stadium and Anaheim, then drove up the PCH to visit O.Co and At&t. We did Wrigley and US Cellular then rented a car and drove to Miller and Target.

I already planned our other ballpark trips (I'm a planner and a map reader):

Safeco > Portland (via the PCH south - with stops to see the Goonies house and Nirvana) > At&t.

Great American Ballpark > Progressive > R&R HOF > Comerica > Rodgers

Petco > Chase > Grand Canyon.

We had a plan to do Busch > Kauffman > Coors, but now that we've done Coors, it'll probably just be a long weekend trip.

Globe Life > Minute Maid > New Orleans.

We had originally planned to do Florida with Turner Field, but I think we're going to end up doing Suntrust another time.

Home this helps with planning out your trips! Home you have an amazing time!!! Some of my best childhood memories are family road trips!
