I am currently reading the biography "The Biography of an American Hero - Ted Williams" by Leigh Montville.  Very good biography.  Somewhat negative at times towards his attitude as one would expect.

I got to the section about his managing days with the Washington Senators.  The person that they talked to most was Tom Grieve (former Senators player, Rangers GM and current broadcaster).  Tom grew up with my father and referenced him and his friends when talking about his youth days being a Yankee fan that spent the time playing baseball all day as a kid with his friends.  My Dad was one of them. Tommy's dad grew up with my grandfather and lived near him for most of their lives until my grandfather died with ALS 7 years ago.

Overall, I would really recommend this book as its a great read and worthwhile for any baseball fan.
