Just curious, if you had a time machine, and could go back and see only one stadium, which would it be?  I have been fortunate to have seen Forbes Field, Tiger Stadium, old Yankee Stadium and old Comiskey, as well as Fenway and Wrigley, and like the feel and histroy associated with the old ballparks.  There are several I have thought about: Seattle's Sick's Stadium and the Pilots in '69, St. Louis Sportsman Park and the Gas House Gang, and Crosley Field come to mind, but I think Ebbets Field in Brooklyn in the early '50's would be my choice. Pictures of the stadium give the feel of a grand old ballpark and I would have loved to see Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese and the rest of the 'Bums' play a game there.

Wow great question. If I had to see ONE I'd probably go with Shibe Park. Exterior architecture was outstanding and it had the rooftop fans similar to Wrigley Field.

If I were allowed a 1A it'd be the Polo Grounds as I would've loved to have seen the field dimensions at that park. Going way back I'd probably include Cincinnati's Palace of the Fans on the short list.

Again great question!

Love this question- thanks for posting! I have always been in love with the Polo Grounds so I would time it to see a game when the Homestead Grays came through. If there was enough plutonium to get me to Ebbets Field, that would be my second choice!

While it would be nice to see a stadium that I haven't seen before, I would choose Tiger Stadium circa 1933. Specifically, June 28, 1933. It was Hank Greenberg's rookie season, and both Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth were with the Yankees. In this particular game the Babe homered, something I would have loved seeing. Charlie Gehringer played at 2B for the Tigers that day. Gotta get me one of these time machines...

I don't really have one ballpark in mind...just people. Wherever it was I would love to go back in time to see Rube Foster try out for John McGraw. Now could it have been the Polo Grounds, likely. But my interest lies in truly Old School Baseball and to see these two men in person I would just pee my pants.

My biggest regret is missing Sportsman's Park in St. Louis.  It was still there when I started ballpark chasing, but I failed to see a game there before the Cards moved to Busch Stadium.  It really would have been fun to see my Yankees play the Browns there prior to 1954 on a hot summer day in Saint Looie.
