We got into Houston literally as Hurricane Katrina was hitting New Orleans. Every hotel in the city was booked. We had reservations. The entire parking lot was full of LA plates, including as you can see here, taxis and vans. It was surreal. When we got there, the police were there breaking up a fight over a room. Ted and I felt bad because we were staying in such a cheap place; we would have moved to a different hotel to make room for others, but they were all full. At least these guys could all afford to leave. Spent the entire drive back to Dallas (we drove down the day before) listening to the news on the radio.
