I've never been to the Baseball Hall of Fame and was thinking of going. Have any of you been? What did you think? Is induction weekend great or an overpriced madhouse? Is that the time to go or should I go another time? What minor league ballparks nearby did you go to?

Not sure about that but we found a hotel literally right around the corner. It was cheap and very nostalgic. I would recommend that.

I appreciate the help, but I still can't decide what I want to do. I see the benefit of going Hall of Fame weekend and also not going then since none of my Phillies will be going to the Hall any time soon. I assume it's like any museum and you only need a few hours there. So one day should be fine. But since I'm coming from the west coast I need to figure out what to do around that in order to plan a trip.

Did you find hotels on Orbitz or Hotels.com or is there some hidden smaller hotels that aren't on there?

Yes I went to two days at the Hall. I went with a friend whose a die-hard Phillies fan. I am a diehard Red Sox fan. We went for Phillies weekend. I took tons of pics of Sox stuff. We stayed at a hotel not far from there. Very old style hotel. And we ate on the strip. Well worth every penny!

October is a great time to visit the Hall. Great weather that time of the year. We go every year around the middle of October. Lots of great views in the fall. The weekends are still busy but not as bad as the summer. I have had a HOF membership since 2002. During induction weekend it is packed. If it is your first time I would go on a non peak day the Friday before is not to bad. A couple of new hotels have been built recently. You have to book early in you are going on weekend. Lots of great shops and the Hall of Fame gift shop is a must stop. I live about 3 hours away in Pa great drive up not a lot around on the way up 88. Hope this helps............
