CHAPTER 3 CONT'D(SHOWING OF THE DOUBLE HEADER POSSIBLIITES) THIS IS JUST TORONTO-

Double headers were the key to beating the streak. I knew this well. I spent about a hundred hours online searching every scenario for every city. I am lucky enough in my pizza delivery job I am able to go on call after eight at night. I have about ten hours of down time a week waiting for late orders. I applied this time to come up with this list.
This is a list based on a master flight schedule from every city of America that had a possibility to arrive at a Major League baseball City in time to make ground transportaion available to arrive for first pitch. In addition to flights, this doubleheader chart also will show you Amtrak trains, bus information and other modes of transport designed on how to do two cities in one day.
There are several cities with scheduling quirks that enable a doubleheader opportunity as well. Cleveland, Minnesota and New York play several day matinees that start as 12:00 pm start times———this bodes nicely with a team that has 7:00pm start time or higher.
In this first streak I was able to use the ‘ESPN SUNDAY NIGHT GAME’ to my advantage a few times. The reason why this is so good is because of the later start time to accommodate primetime. The games start at 8:00 Pm Eastern————of course this only helps you in the Eastern time zone, if the game is in Los Angeles or San Francisco, then the game is at 5:00pm local time which does not help.
Something else that I picked up on early was that flying from a central eastern based city that is really close to the Central Time Zone can really benefit you. This would be cities like Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Atlanta flying to teams such as: Chicago, Milwaukee, Houston, Texas and St. Louis. Some of the flights were under in an hour when the hour gained was taken into consideration. I will talk more about transportation to and from the games themselves during the streak attempts chapters. This is the master doubleheader list.
Now depending on what criteria you use to mark off your stadiums this will determine on your method of transportation to and from the stadiums. For me, I had to adhere to the “Guinness Book Of World Records” requirements —to qualify for the world record—which meant watching every pitch. That is why when I had flights going from an airport my preferred method of transport was “sedan limo service.”
Actually that concept initially frightened me for cost concerns. However, with the prices of car rentals, gas, parking at the stadiums, insurances and the uneasiness of driving in a city, (I was not too familiar with) added up to about the same price with way less headaches. For instance, in Houston I paid a hundred and twenty-five dollars, (including tip) for a roundtrip sedan. The cost for a weekday car rental plus insurance was around eighty dollars. You add ten-fifteen bucks for Minute Maid Parking, and at least ten-fifteen dollars for gas you are roughly the same price. That was similar in a lot of the cities.
There was a definite drawback though if the game went into extra innings. There will be some great stories in the upcoming chapters.
