2012 MLB Schedule: Florida Marlins home opener

The Cardinals and Miami Marlins will begin the season with the opening of Florida's new ballpark on Wednesday, April 4. Anyone plan on going? Any guesses at what the ballpark will be called?

It would be more a "media relations" thing. As the founder of this site, some teams will provide me with a free ticket or two when traveling and doing research. Being the first ever game, I imagine their media requests will probably all be taken.

How do you go about doing that (getting comped)? Is this something you personally can do or is it a "who do you know" situation?

Yeah, that is a good thought. I may contact the Marlins for a comp. ticket. If that doesn't work, buy from a scalper or ticket broker.

I thought about buying a 41 game plan because you get first shot at the first game, but I do not want to worry about having to resell that many tickets. I would be open to something like a 13 game plan but nothing like that is available yet. I may just wait until single game seats go onsale and take whatever I can get; I don't care where I sit I just want to be there. Do you have any plans or ideas?
