The movie is fantastic.  Superb acting (love the scene with the 'old timer' scouts).  That was perfectly done.  The sound/no sound in the movie was fantastic during that 20th game.

It's a good date movie, it's a good guys/gals night out movie.  It's a good movie.  I probably would not recommend it for youngsters (under the years of 12 or 13).  It's not necessarily about baseball (though that's a big part of it) but about trying to implement a new strategy in an 'old time business' and with minimal funds.

I'd recommend this movie to anyone, not just baseball fans.

I haven't read the book yet but I suspect it is as good and even better than the movie.

I am with you guys as well--I loved it! Come on, how can you not love a film about baseball?!

Just got home from the theatre and am excited to research about how much was true and what was just "hollywood". Anyone hear of parts that were fictional?

Enjoyed the book, and loved the movie (even though I knew how it ended). Glad the movie was more "theatrical"... if it had followed the book to a tee, it would have been quite interesting, but SLOW and a bit boring. Read the book if you want a deeper understanding of the culture clash between the old way of scouting players by their "look", and the newer philosophy of valuing players based on more in-depth stats (sabermetrics).

When I saw that it was coming out on the 23rd and I knew that the 23rd was my last day of teaching in New Mexico... I found no better way to end my week there than going to see Moneyball and that is exactly what I did.

I've heard people say they didn't like it at all (you know who you are lol) but I LOVED IT!  I judge a movie by a few criteria and this one nailed everything except my "Coke Theory" (which states the less I drink of my Coke, the better the movie).  I didn't want this movie to end and was really surprised how fast the 2 hours went.  That tells me I loved it! :)  Im hoping to see it again at the theater... maybe Saturday.  That would be a great way to spend my bday :)
