Hello Fellow Ballpark Chasers:

Next month will be spending 1 day in Denver to catch a Rockies game at Coors and 1 day in Minneapolis at Target Field. Flying from my home in Miami. Doing this trip on a quick weekend and going back to back to these cities. Any Chasers live in these cities? I know where to eat, I know where to stay. Question is, both games should offer me plenty of value in terms of good seats for cheap. Should I buy tix now or wait until week of on stubhub? Will be renting a car as it seems the only way to get from airports to downtown, near ballclub, is renting a car.

Appreciate any responses and if you plan on being there in either Denver or Minneapolis May 16th weekend, would love to meet other Chasers.

Best,

Juan G Ruiz

Hi Juan,

You can take the light rail ( Blue Line) directly from the airport in Minneapolis to Target Field.  Quick and cheap--no need to rent a a car.  See my post:  http://www.ballparkchasers.com/profiles/blogs/my-excellent-minnesota

Enjoy the game!

Hi Michael,

Greatly appreciate your post and advice. Based on the info you gave me, I did some research and decided to take the light rail to/from downtown and the airport. I'm excited to check out Target Field!

Thanks again!

Juan -

For Rockies tickets, there's a new Rooftop section in the upper (third level) right field stands.  It's $14 general admission and there're bar/eateries in the area.  This ticket price includes a $6 concession / merchandise credit.

I would not recommend buying tickets now as getting tickets to a Rockies game is pretty easy the day of the game.

Meg

Hi Meg,

I have read about the new Rooftop section that was added this year. My buddy and I are really into watching the game and being into what's happening. Do you think the new rooftop section would feel 'too far removed' from all the action? If not, then I'll probably opt to sit there as I'd love to try out a new feature of the ballpark.

Thanks for the tip.

Juan

I've only been once this year to the Rooftop section in Coors Field and it's more of a party atmosphere than 'watching the game.'  It's still an excellent investment as Coors Field allows access to all levels (except Club Level) for any ticket holder.   You'll like attending a game at Coors Field.

Meg

Juan,

While at Coors, take a walk out to the "Rockpile" section in dead center field if you can access it from where you end up sitting.  The folks out there reminded me of the Bleacher Creatures of Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium.  Real fans, out to have a good time and enjoy the game and perhaps a brewskie or two.  Worth a visit.

Hey Michael,

I used to live in Manhattan and would take the 4 train to Yankee stadium and sit in same section as the Bleacher Creatures. I'm sure the Colorado folks aren't as nasty as some of the Yanks fans. I'll take you up on that advice if I get access to sit near the Rockpile. Or I may just buy tickets there or the rooftop section that Meg mentioned.

I appreciate it!

Juan

The Rockpile is a lonnnnnnng way from home plate.  Not sure if I'd want to spend a whole game out there, but I enjoyed a short term visit.

Only fans nastier than those in NYC are just down the road in Philly.  Should be pretty mellow at Coors Field.

Michael
