Stealing first base

MLB, through the Atlantic League, is testing out stealing first base.  This is where any batter can try to run to first on any pitch not caught in flight.  The first player to steal first in a game…Continue

Finally made it to my first game this season, my annual visit to see the PCL Memphis Redbirds, and saw the use of the pitch clock for the first time. The pitcher has 20 seconds to start his windup…Continue

I just saw a story that said the Braves will be moving to a new stadium in 2017 in neighboring Cobb County. The city of Atlanta doesn't want to use taxpayer money to help renovate Turner Field, which…Continue

Stealing first base

MLB, through the Atlantic League, is testing out stealing first base.  This is where any batter can try to run to first on any pitch not caught in flight.  The first player to steal first in a game is Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' Tony Thomas.  I cannot decide if I like this idea or not.  On one hand it adds another element of excitement to the game but on the other hand it changes the game I grew up with (still don't like the DH, but that is another story).  Any thoughts?See More

Hello all.  I am glad to find a site that shares my interest in Ballparks.  I have been to 52 MLB, including all of the current ballparks. I finished my quest in this year by going to Sun Trust Park in Atlanta.  I have a list of the stadiums I have visited at http://myweb.astate.edu/mdraganj/baseball.html.  If you are a fan of the movie "A League of Their Own", I strongly suggest you visit Evansville IN Bosse Field and Huntingburg IN League Stadium.  Happy chasing!
