It looks like the Oakland Athletics will move along with their new ballpark, Cisco Field. Mayor Bob Wasserman came out on top during Tuesday's election with 43 percent of the vote. Wasserman has been a vocal supporter of bringing a $1.8 billion “Ballpark Village” that holds 32,000 seats to the Fremont area (about 20 miles south of Oakland Coliseum). Next year they look to move forward with the environmental impact report and hopefully have Cisco Field open for the 2012 season.

That would be awesome, I had a great time at Oakland, but they do need a new place!

I hope they can make this happen. It would be nice to see another football stadium leave MLB. I found this article today.
