Looking forward to visting new Yankee Stadium and Citi Field this week, 2 games at each park. Trip begins Wed night for the interleague series between Yanks and Nats. I sprung for the $90 field box ticket down the 3rd base line. For Thursday matinee I'll be sitting upstairs on the grandstand level. On Friday night another interleague series, Rays and Mets. Sprung for the $90 field box seat for the first game and will settle into the promenade level for Saturday afternoon game.

Yeah, we did the train last week to the games as well. Actually, for Yankee Stadium we parked by the stadium (made it easier for getting away to Boston), then took the train into town and back out to the park. Did the same for Citi field. Its easy, very easy. More so for Citi cause its just the # 7, in and out (always look for that Diamond, cause the express rocks!). For Yankee it's the # 4 to Grand Central, then the # 7 to Times Square... and then the reverse back to Yankee Stadium. Rain does suck, tell me about it! Had to get back to Western Washington to freakin' enjoy some sun and dry out!! :)

yes, subway is the way to go...let's you off right at the park. only about 15-20 minute ride to Yankee stadium, Citi seemed a bit longer (had more stops, unless you catch an express train which bypasses some of them)

Did you take the subway to and from the game? If so, was it pretty easy?

Uggh...I hate rain on baseball trips!! Where did you stay while in New York?

Enjoyed seeing the new parks in NYC. Due to the heavy rains, I missed out on seeing a 2nd game at Yankee stadium. I just couldn't sit through what ending up being a 5 1/2 hour rain delay. I thought Citi Field was the better ballpark. Wasn't all that impressed with new Yankee stadium...has the look of the old stadium, but of course with club level suites. Field level seating (the number of seats) seemed smaller than most stadiums, and I was sitting 30 rows up, on the last possible row, under the overhang from the next deck, which I don't like. I did like the Hard Rock Cafe at the stadium. I wanted to go on a tour of the stadium to see monument park, and some of the other areas you wouldn't normally be able to see but the tours were sold out. The old stadium still remains next to it, which isn't the case in Queens, as I didn't realize Shea had been demolished already. No signs of Shea as it was completely paved over as the new parking lot for Citi Field. Citi has a lot of neat features beyond the outfield...mini ball field for the kids, a dunk tank, expanded food and microbrew selections, etc. The seating configuration was better too at Citi...more field level seating and the seats in the upper promenade, particularly the promenade box (sect 400s) seem alot closer to the field than the upper sections at most other parks.

Awesome, Dutch! I hope you are enjoying your trip! I just booked my flight for NY! Headed out in September to see a few games as well. I just couldn't let the inaugural seasons pass me by without visiting. Let us know your thoughts on everything...
