Target Field seats

Opening in 2010, Target Field will be the new home of the Minnesota Twins. Fans got a sneak peek at the new seats this weekend at TwinsFest. Despite showing off the traditional plastic ballpark seats, the Twins surprised everyone with the unveiling of new wood-back seats. This feature has not been used in a new construction ballpark since World War II!

Well done guys -this is a great way to bring back the classic stadium look.…

Citi Field

Despite the rumor, Citi Field will keep it's name and the 20-year sponsorship agreement with Citigroup. Reports are circulating that the new stadium construction is nearly complete.

The 45,000 seat open-air ballpark will include spacious concourses with 360-degree field views and wider seats with more legroom. Citi Field will also offer new restaurants, bars, clubs and lounges with most of them looking out on the field. In addition, the Mets will feature party decks, picnic areas, a… Continue

Fenway Renovations

The Red Sox are continuing their 9 year, $100 million renovation of Fenway Park. The goal is to be complete by 2012, their 100 year anniversary of Fenway. The Red Sox are pursuing Major League Baseball to host the 2012 All-Star Game in Boston. Larry Lucchino, the President and CEO of the Red Sox, says they could very well be in Fenway for another 40 years! Lets hope he is… Continue

Cisco Field

It looks like the Oakland Athletics will move along with their new ballpark, Cisco Field. Mayor Bob Wasserman came out on top during Tuesday's election with 43 percent of the vote. Wasserman has been a vocal supporter of bringing a $1.8 billion “Ballpark Village” that holds 32,000 seats to the Fremont area (about 20 miles south of Oakland Coliseum). Next year they look to move forward with the environmental impact report and hopefully have Cisco Field open for the 2012 season.…

Goodbye Yankee Stadium

As I sit here watching the final regular season game ever to be played at Yankee Stadium, I cannot help but feel as though we are losing a part of baseball. I get this way too with each passing of a former Major League Baseball star. That’s life, I guess- all good things must come to an end. Despite being a baseball fanatic and ballpark guru, this is the first time I have felt this way about an end of a ballpark. However, Yankee Stadium is not your typical ballpark. No other ballpark in… Continue

A DAY TO REMEMBER By: Bill Chuck

I returned to the place of my birth yesterday. Not my actual birth, my baseball birth. The place of actual birth was a hospital that doesn’t exist any more across the street from the Madison Square Garden that doesn’t exist any more. Soon, this Yankee Stadium, the home of my baseball birth won’t exist any more either.

I shed no tears. I was there with my wife, the Boston Red Sox fan (we live two miles from Fenway Park), my eldest daughter, who now lives in the City, and my… Continue

Jackie Robinson Day

Tuesday, April 15th, Major League Baseball will recognize the anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball's color barrier. Lets also not forget the work of Larry Doby, AL's first African American ballplayer as well as the hundreds of other Negro League players that paved the way for Jackie to be given the opportunity to be the first.…

Wondering what the (14) means after my name? Well, its how many MLB stadiums I have seen. When you are logged in, go to "my page" up top, click on "my settings" on the right side of the page and edit your name so it reads the number of Major League Stadiums you have visited!
