Hello all,

I have a simi plan in place but would love more information/advice from anyone that has done this trip before.

We are flying into San Francisco Saturday Sept 23rd.  Going to A's game Sunday 24th, Giants game Monday 25th, then flying to Seattle Tuesday and going to Mariners game Wednesday 27th.

So far, a place I found to stay in San Francisco was Hotel Griffon with Bay View King room.  and in Seattle I found Silver Cloud hotel with water view King…

Planning my BIG summer!

SO...

This summer, my best friend is finally coming out to Topeka, KS to visit. I moved out here about a year ago for a girl. 9 months later, guess who is single? Living close to a Baseball stadium has always been a must for me. It used to be Safeco Field (Now T-Mobile Park), and now I have Kauffman Stadium as my go-to ballpark. …

Heading to Seattle to see my beloved Red Sox play the Mariners.  First time to Seattle and my 14th American League stadium seeing my boys play in.  Staying at Embassy Suites and have the CityPass.  Any seating suggestions at the ballpark and/or food suggestions in the city and around the park would be appreciated.

Baseball is happening!

Hi all,

Do people still use this forum, or just post to the chasers FB page?  Anyway, I know many have a "sour taste" from this year's Collective Bargaining lock-out. I had planned to attend the Final Four in New Orleans this year, so was really hoping to attend a few baseball stadiums on the same trip. Now that can happen. My friend and I will be attending, and already have tickets for these games:

3/31-4/4 New Orleans for Final Four

4/5 Drive New Orleans to…

Ballpark Ranking

This is our ranking of ballparks we have visited. We will edit this list after each trip. Also, this only includes the game and not other activities around the park. Also, we will only rank parks we see as a group where an Indian are the visiting team (Maybe a little hometown bias putting Progressive Field #1 for all 3 of us).

Casey:

  1. Indians
  2. Twins
  3. Cardinals
  4. Brewers
  5. Tigers
  6. White Sox
  7. Blue Jays

Charlie Pride, Pitcher

Charlie Pride, yes, the country music singer, used to be a highly regarded pitching prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals  farm system during the 1950s. He regularly sang during the seventh inning stretch while in the minor leagues in Billings, Montana. He took up singing full time after a major elbow injury.

Cancel or wait?

We have plans to hit 3 parks on the east coast (from Arizona) in June....what's everyone thinking? Should I cancel the trip while I can probably get my money back? Do you think MLB will even play this year? I know everything will be speculation up to this point but I'm anxious. I personally think, and I think I've heard this on ESPN, is that they will try to make up as many games as they have missed with double headers. I don't know how that would affects tickets I have in June....

Rob Manfred should only be Roger Goodell on Halloween

Manfred needs to quit trying to do NFL things in MLB. He needs to quit tugging at the fabric of the game.Baseball is naturally un-timed. Leave it alone.

Three batter minimum is problematic

The new three batter minimum presents several problems. What if a pitcher just doesn't have it? I can see a three pitch minimum. Three batters is different. Maybe it causes extra intentional walks? Do you bring in a player to pitch and move the previous pitcher in the outfield for one batter? Who knows?

Bring back the real intentional walk

No 7th inning orange wedges here. It's time to bring back the real intentional walk. There is simply too much that can happen in a pro baseball situation  to have a rule that allows someone to be waived on to first base. A wild pitch can allow a runner to move up. An accidental pitch across the plate can be hit out of the ballpark. Let's play big boy baseball.

3-park East Coast trip

Finally adding some new ballparks!  I am tentatively planning to take a quick trip with a friend, with not much time for other stuff, but we plan to catch these games this summer:

7/1 1:05 Yankees at Orioles

7/2 12:05 PM Padres at Phillies

7/3 6:05 PM Astros at Nationals

These will be new stadiums for me.  I've been to the old Memorial stadium (Baltimore) several times when I lived in the DC area, 1986-1990,  but that was before Camden Yards, and…

Kansas City Tailgate?

Hello,

I'm planning on visiting Kansas City this summer for the Indians games in early June. Do they allow tailgating in the parking lots outside of Kauffman? It doesn't look like there are many bars/restaurants to walk to before the game, but I might be completely wrong.

Thanks!

2nd time around short rundown on this past years highlights

Finished a half lap this past year 16 parks in 7 and a half weeks. Took my time and saw some truly amazing games this year. was at the game in Houston that saw the little girl hit by a line drive foul to start the tour. then to a rain out in St. Louis. 2 three run home runs but the same batter with the exact same players on the same bases! Deja Vu! In Colorado saw a 37 run game with more home runs than I can count. (Record for most home runs in a regular season MLB game) June 16th what a…

Ballpark chasers--A Love Story

Story of a ten-year push...

2009: Son is 10, and we decide to go for it! Two home games: Home opener in SF, and Oakland, always a good start

2010: On the road--fly to San Diego, motorcar up to Anaheim and then Dodger Stadium LA Dodgers (vs SF, many friendly SF faces sitting nearby). High point: snagging a foul tip in LA, pitched by Mad Bum himself. Even higher point--I caught it after next-seat neighbor bobbled it and gave me an easy grab. Perhaps if he hadn't been so…
