Hey fellow chasers, have a question for you, hoping you can help me out. Next July I'm heading East to catch the Staten Island and Brooklyn short season teams. Am very familiar with
NYC and the subway system, and of course the costs. What I'm hoping someone can help me out with is where to stay, reasonably inexpensive, and somewhat close to a subway station.
Wondering about staying in Jersey, but haven't yet explored that option, and getting over to NYC. Grateful for any tips you…

A lot of people ask if its possible and how they would go about and do it. I just got done achieving my 30 ballparks in 30 days in August 2014 as a solo trip. It took me 29days 1hr and 47mins. It was the best time ive ever had. I learned so much more about the game, stadiums, fans and the cities and states I travel thru. It was an unbelievable journey and I found a great deal of appreciation and love for the game! Highly recommend, I never wanted to see all 30 in 30 days, its never even…

This is the scorecard cover from August 8,1957, Washington Senators at New York Yankees. The Nats won the game 6-1, before a throng of 9108. Mickey Mantle batted third and Yogi Berra batted cleanup, but the only homer hit that day was by the light-hitting Eddie Yost (the "walking man") of the Nats. I'll periodically be posting scorecard covers from other games I attended in different ballparks if there is any interest amongst the group.…

As I sat down to do this, I thought (1) this would be easier and (2) I would have much more objective reasons for slotting each ballpark.
What I found out, and surmise may be true with most people, is that the ranking is really just a personal opinion on the totality of the circumstances surrounding the game(s) witnessed in the park, the historical significance of the park, the people who were at the game with me and, increasingly, how good the food and beer choices are.
Here's…

I had read that parking was tough for the Cardinals games. I went online and found a Irish pub, Llywelyn's, that offered a free trolley ride to the game. This worked out fantastic. Parking was free at the pub. We bought a couple of beers and all we had to do was show receipt to the trolley driver and off we went. Dropped us off right at the stadium and picked us up after. Trolley makes several runs before and after the game so we had no problem getting back to the pub, for you guessed it, a…

Spent Labor Day weekend visiting St. Louis for a Cards/Cubs game, then to Kansas City to see a Royals/Rangers game. On the way down from the Twin Cities stopped in DesMoines for an Iowa Cubs game. Got rained out in the 5th inning but still enjoyed the ballpark. Really liked Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. If you stay at Drury Inn and Suites you can walk to the game. Plus they have free food and drinks in the evening before the game and the hot breakfast is amazing.

Anyone in the Baltimore area interested in splitting two tickets for a 13 game season ticket plan?

We just got back from our first ever trip to Wrigley to watch our O's get swept! Just wanted to add update for the foodies. Don't look for the Heater! The suggested hot dog of choice inside Wrigley...they don't serve it anymore. I think I had the "Chicago". I highly suggest it!

There's something seriously wrong if they rate Dodger and Wrigley among the top five in the National League.

My wife and I just completed our 4th summer baseball road trip together and our 1st with our daughter Megan (born in February.) We had a great time seeing my Mets play at Nationals Park and Citizen's Bank and seeing Steph's Yanks at Camden Yards. It was our first trip to Nationals Park and Camden Yards and we have high opinions of both. All three parks were especially accommodating with a 6 month old, especially in (although I hate to say it) Philadelphia. Not sure where next year will take…

Well, I just returned from California, where I got to see two nice stadiums, O.co Stadium in Oakland and Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles.
I was pleasantly surprised in Los Angeles with the beautiful view of the mountains. I saw my Mets split a 2-game series against Oakland and saw Clayton Kershaw pitch a gem in LA.
22 down, 8 to go!

My 2014 baseball journey was a 6 day, 8 stadium journey to witness 9 games. Starting on June 27th and ending July 3rd, a total of 14 teams were seen during the trip.
Friday, June 27th- Angels at Royals. Late to the game, ended up missing Trout's 490 foot home run in the top of the 1st. Still kicking myself over that
Saturday, June 28th- Rays at Orioles. Highlight of the game was sneaking into the section behind the plate during the 4th inning after purchasing 13 dollar upper…
ContinueI was up in San Francisco for work this weekend and was staying in Alameda so I decided to see the Giants game Friday night. I caught the ferry across, which worked out perfectly, no parking issues, no traffic problems at all! The game was good (but the Giants lost in the 10th) and the park was awesome, but chilly! I also met some really awesome people waiting for the ferry back.
I have two stadiums left for this year (Dodger Stadium and Angel Stadium). I am going to the Angels game…

It's that time of year again. After my very fun and busy Florida road trip last year (20 games in 12 days!), I am scaling it back a bit and only going to 6 games in 5 days. I am leaving on Wednesday and will be going to see the White Sox, Brewers and Cubs and minor league games in Beloit, South Bend and Kane County (Cubs and Kane County will be on the same day). I am also doing a stadium tour of Wrigley on the day my trip ends, since the Cubs will be on the road that day and, according to…

Just got back from an 15 game 11 park trip through the midwest and east coast. Out of the old parks I much preferred Fenway to Wrigley. Out of the new parks I felt Camden Yards was a notch above the rest. The city experience I enjoyed the most was staying in Manhattan and taking the subway to 2 Mets and 2 Yankees games. The park I was most dissapointed in was PNC in Pittsburgh just because of the high expectations I had. The park was great when you were in your seats but the concourses were…
