Today is the last day to register for a chance at pre-season and opening day tickets at the new Yankee stadium. I am sure I wont win but its worth a shot.

S&S Seating, Inc. is making our limited inventory of historic Tiger Stadium seats available for purchase!
We have three types of seats available: Blue plastic, Orange plastic and the rare Tiger Den seats. In the original auction in 2007, only the blue seats and the Tiger Den seats were made available for purchase. The 200 Tiger Den seats sold out within 3 hours. The hard to find Orange seats were not made available to the general public. If you missed out in 2007, now is your…

Counting down the days until Opening Day, and 4 weeks from today I'll be heading up to St. Louis for the Astros-Cards series.
The first of 4 fantasy drafts for me was this week, and the next one is scheduled for tomorrow night. That 10 team league is still looking to fill some spots.

(I will try to periodically update this blog with a profile of a lost ballpark site that I've been to)
Huntington Avenue Grounds in Boston is a conveniently located, easy-to-find, and notable lost ballpark site.
It was home to the Boston Red Sox from 1901-1911 and hosted the first modern World Series game in…

I have added a Lost Ballparks map that includes the sites of 44 Lost Ballparks I have visited (Braves Field in Boston pictured at left).
It doesn't look like there are that many on the map, but if you zoom in, they're all there. With many of the sites there were multiple ballparks on the same piece of property (Sportsman's Parks I-IV for…

How to pass the dreary and cold winter days? Thinking about baseball of course, that's how!
I've been busy looking at online schedules, planning, and repeating that over and over. Trying to figure out the right baseball trip for Summer 2009!
I just discovered Ballpark Chasers yesterday, what a great concept for a ballpark site! There are so many ballpark sites that are the same. Chasers is unique!

Opening in 2010, Target Field will be the new home of the Minnesota Twins. Fans got a sneak peek at the new seats this weekend at TwinsFest. Despite showing off the traditional plastic ballpark seats, the Twins surprised everyone with the unveiling of new wood-back seats. This feature has not been used in a new construction ballpark since World War II!
Well done guys -this is a great way to bring back the classic stadium look.…

The headline in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says it all: "Braves' offseason of mediocrity".
We're about a month out from the beginning of spring training, and the Braves still don't have a solid starting rotation. That's a problem since pitchers and catchers report on February 14.
Fans expected big moves after last season's dismal display by the back end of the starting rotation and the bullpen. The Braves tried to sign San Diego Padres ace Jake Peavy, but that fell…

Despite the rumor, Citi Field will keep it's name and the 20-year sponsorship agreement with Citigroup. Reports are circulating that the new stadium construction is nearly complete.
The 45,000 seat open-air ballpark will include spacious concourses with 360-degree field views and wider seats with more legroom. Citi Field will also offer new restaurants, bars, clubs and lounges with most of them looking out on the field. In addition, the Mets will feature party decks, picnic areas, a…

Parts of the stadium have already been moved to the new site- including Monument Park. Demolition begins next March just as the new Yankee Stadium opens its…

After 14 years the Red Sox organization decided not to raise their ticket prices for the 2009 season. Fenway Park seats have been sold out for 469 consecutive games and were the most expensive ticket last season ($48.80 on average). What does this mean? Well, $125 can still buy you a field box ticket. Yippee. What a joke! With this shaky economy that our country is facing and the consistent support from the Red Sox fans, you would think the organization would provide some sort of break. But its…
